What’s the best way to find a reliable builder?

I am looking to do some work on my property, re-rendering, a kitchen extension and a loft conversion, but as it’s a lot of money to spend, I obviously want to make sure to find someone who isn’t going to do a shoddy job. Is there a website to look where people have recommended construction companies, or any other tips? Or can you even recommend a company – I live in Torbay in Devon.

CAN YOU READ MY SMALL CHAPTER OF THE START OF MY STORY AND TELL ME IF ITS GOOD? AND RATE IT OUT OF 1O! THANKS?

Okay so its about this girl called Elle and she meets Devon but he is half demon. This is the start of it, can you rate it out of 10 and tell me if its good or not. and tell me why you think its good or not.
Yes i know there is spelling and grammar mistakes but just ignore them and read the piece.

HERE IT IS:

“Come on it will be fun, please Elle!” Nagged my best friend Trev.
“I told you I don’t want to sneak into a night club, im only 16!” I said. He got fake Id’s but still I was ground already for stealing a dress the other day. Yes im not a great child, im a rebel and I usually do whatever I want. “
When has being too young ever stopped you before?” he said with a wicked grin. That was true, it didn’t matter how old I was I usually did it anyway.
“Okay fine then, but only because I heard there was going to be some guys 18th there. He is freaking hot” I smiled.
He grin got ever bigger “There’s my girl!” he grabbed my arm.
“Okay so you know how we are both single? Well let’s go as a date. Just to get people’s attention on how hot we are so we get checked out alright?” he blabbered on.
“Oh that sounds good, I read in a magazine that guys are more attracted to girls when they think there not available.” I sang.
“Good! Alright so I will meet you at Storm at 9 okay” he kissed me on the cheek and left. I didn’t know what to wear; it had to be sexy but not to revealing.

I got home and checked the time; it was 7 o’clock so I had 2 hours. I started getting ready right away because beauty takes a lot of time. Now that I wasn’t naturally pretty I was. I have long brown wavy hair, with big brown eyes. A slim figure, a light tan and average height. I got in the shower and shaved my legs. I went to my closet and choose a short, silver silky dress; it clung everywhere, with a gold trimming around the edges. It came down very low so I put on a gold necklace. I left my hair down, just some hair spray and it looked real good. I put on some black high heels, they weren’t too high though. Some mascara, blush, lip gloss and I was ready. 1 hour and a half had already passed so I decided to call a taxi and get down there. The taxi arrived 15 minutes later and took 10 minutes to get to Storm so I was on time. I saw a man on the corner with brown hair, with green eyes. He was good looking, wearing a t-shirt unbuttoned and a pair of black jeans, it was Trev.
He saw me and yelled “Woooo baby! Someone is going to stir up Storm tonight and I think that someone is you! Wow your looking hot!” loads of people turned around and looked at me, most of the men smiled in agreement.
“Well im going to need my best friend to do that, you’re looking sexy with that unbuttoned t-shirt Trev” I laughed out loud, I couldn’t help myself.
“Well tonight were boyfriend and girlfriend alright?” he took my arm.
“Yes okay but no tongue right?” I asked, he nodded in agreement. When we made it to the bouncer at the front door, he looked me up and smiled “Go right in miss” he said.
“Thanks Hun, but my friend can come too?” I asked pointing to Trev.
“Anyone can come in if there with you” he said. I laughed again, I had a feeling tonight was going to be a good one. I walked in and saw a big ‘happy 18th’ sign. I was right there was someone’s 18th. They were playing something boring by Brittany Spears, it wasn’t fast enough so I went up to the DJ and asked him to play the song Hotel Room Service by Pitbull. It was a fast sexy song, good for a first impression. “Good choice” said Trev as he grabbed hold of my waist. We danced fast, and we must have looked good because people were watching from all around us. I did a hip swing and the crowd cheer, I grabbed everything I could on Trev. He did the same, by the end I was breathing heavily and laughing. We went and sat down for a break and got a drink. “Well you’re a hell of a dancer” smiled Trev. “Right back at ya. Hey we got a few eyes watching us” I said taking a gulp of my drink.
“Yeah we did, especially that one that has been staring at you ever since we walked in” he said sounding happy.
“What one?” I asked getting curious. I hadn’t seen anyone watched me the whole time. “The one standing near the bar, he has jeans and a white tank top on. He looks like a loser I would say, im getting another drink want one?” he asked getting up. “Sure just one more though school starts tomorrow.” I said looking around to find the guy. He was indeed looking at me, shit he was hot. He had brown hair like Trev’s except his had a bit of blond also. He had blue eyes, he was tanned and muscular. He smiled and I nodded for him to come over, he obeyed.
A moment later he was standing over me, “hello there, my name is Devon, may I join you ms?” he asked. His voice made me unsteady.
“Well I didn’t just nod you over here so you could stand lurking over me” I said not daring to look at his perfect face. I saw Trev look over at me, he smiled and walked over to a group of girls. It had been probably a

Should I go to London to see him?

Recently a guy I’ve had on msn for a while and I have been getting a closer friendship, and thought we should meet, because obviously that’s better than just over the internet and phones etc.
He works abroad most of the year but he’s been at home the last week in Devon, and flies back to work on Sunday from London and we talked about me going down to London to meet up before he goes back.
I asked about him coming up to Manchester (where I am) but it just doesn’t make sense when his hotel and flights are booked from London.

I did think about going to see him while he was abroad at work, but this makes more sense before I go all that way just to see a friend.
There’s no funny business, he has a girlfriend who he wouldn’t cheat on, and I believe he’s genuine – and also we spent 3 and a half hours on the phone last night, if it wasn’t legit he wouldn’t do that.

What software to use for an online database?

I am currently designing a webpage for the fossils of the Jurassic Coast, and I want to include an online database where users can upload details and images of fossils they have found. Also other users need to be able to search the database, the moderator needs to be able to edit the records and the moderator also needs to be sent a notification when records are uploaded. Can anyone recommend any software, preferably free, that can do all this?

My boyfriend and I (27 and 28 years old) are looking to move from Belfast to the SW of England. He has a degree in Environmental Science with the hope of getting a job in the field of renewable energy. I don’t have a degree but all of my experience is within hospitality, mainly at management level.

Break down on Tarvois Cloud?

I just watched his last fight .I don’t know what the judges were looking at but he lost this fight. I gave him three round not counting the first round in which he scored two knock downs. Cloud has only fought 6 times in the last four years. Now if you are Mayweather you can do this Cloud is not Mayweather. Cloud is a slugger pure and simple will someone please tell me why after the first round he starts backing up? In the second round Compillo caught Cloud with a left uppercut from way out side Cloud was never the same. This guy hit cloud with every uppercut he threw.Compillo was a late replacement he was called in on three weeks notice. The big thing was Compillo is a south paw and a good one. There should be no excuses for Cloud he fought a dumb fight and it should have cost him. I thought Cloud was the real deal but after seeing this fight I am not sure who he is. When I was fighting guys fought the same way every fight if you beat them you beat them .These guys to day Chad Dawson,Devon Alexander,Zab Judah you can’t count on them because you just don’t know what your going to get out of them from fight to fight. These guys should know what type of fighters they are by now. Cloud’s trainers are garbage if you could have heard the advice they were giving him in his corner.Cloud got a gift because he lost this fight.This fight cost a lot of people a lot of money. I am a gambler and I bet on these fights as do many of you . Is it a good idea to make up towns and cities for a story?

I was wondering if, when writing a story, there are any problems with making up the towns in which your characters live?

For example, could you say your character lives in a real, existing county, for example Devon and then make up a town and put it in Devon? Eg, could you write “She lived in the town of Fudgeville [non-existent] in the county of Devon [existent], south-west England”?
(Of course I’m not really going to call it Fudgeville, that was just the first thing that popped into my head (I’m hungry)).

And then, if you wanted to take it a step further and invent a river to run through the town, for example “The beautiful River Chocosauce wound around the town of Fudgeville”. Would people look at it and say, “That’s not a real river, what the hell is this? Did she completely fail at geography? What a flipping stupid book!”

I know it’s just a fictional story and all, but are there any issues with doing this? Do people get annoyed about that sort of thing? I don’t want the Devonshire masses forming an angry mob outside my house.

What is the worst true wrestling story you’ve heard. Not rumors like the Macho Man raping Stephanie rumor but something true. Like I got one to start it off.

Little back knowledge on this one first. Its from the IWA-MS (Independent Wrestling Assosciation Mid-South) The owner is Ian Rotten. IWA MS is like the scummiest sketchiest promotion in the USA. Anyways heres a story from one of TNA’s bloggers.

For today’s column I’m going to divulge outside of the normal realm of topics and speak on the recent IWA “Mike Levy Incident” that occurred a while back, shortly after Mickey “Moose” Knuckles signed with TNA. This does relate to TNA because of Mickie, but ultimately this is a story about the incident and how far from “wrestling” these places are.

If you haven’t seen the video, the premise is this. IWA Mid-South is the worst wrestling organization in the world. This is essentially the redneck version of FMW. I used to live in the area and during the height of ECW, IWA began to leech off the names associated and launched their own fed with some of the worst wrestling ever. They are known for their infamous King of the Death match tournaments. Chances are if you’ve wrestled in your back yard or a swimming pool with a friend, you’ve already had better matches than IWA ever has.

But besides the fact that IWA is terrible and has a total of about 35 fans half of whom also wrestle there, they have achieved some minor fame with Ian Rotten (The less talented of the Rottens) and his “protege” in Mickie Knuckles. Knuckles isn’t a great wrestler, but she’s a decent hardcore wrestler who is essentially famous for being able to take some real abuse inside the ring. Think a female Mick Foley. Again, she’s not particularly good, but you may have seen that she CAN wrestle as evidenced on TNA. But it’s her ability to take abuse that’s made her famous.

Okay, prefacing all this, the scene goes down as follows. Apparently Mike Levy is an indy wrestler who contacted IWA about appearing on some of their shows. Although Levy was billed as being a indy wrestler, it appears that for the most part Levy has wrestled in federations even less qualified than IWA.

The setup is that Levy wants into the King of the Deathmatch tourney but they won’t let him in and he’s placed into the Queen of the Deathmatch tourney instead. He draw Mickie Knuckles who is supposed to come in and beat him down.

Things go well for the first few minutes as Mickie beats him up, but then Levy tries to get in some offense to which Knuckles refuses to take. She hits Levy stiff a few times which results in him hitting her stiff a few times as well. Remember that this is a HARDCORE DEATHMATCH, so stiffing someone is pretty common with these sloppy matches and wrestlers. But sure enough Mickie gets upset and since she is a trained fighter, shoots on Levy with a series of stiff knees, forearms and headbutts. She headbutts him so many times that he’s dazed in order to get him to “sell”. This draws the attention of some of IWA’s “officials” who are also crappy wrestlers. They come to ringside and instruct Mickie to continue to beat on Levy as well as give Levy signals to stop fighting back.

Eventually Mike Levy goes back to plan after taking what would be a reasonable beatdown. Immediately after though, Mickie runs out of the ring while Devon Moore and Tank (The aforementioned cronies) get into the ring and beat on Levy. Whether or not this was planned seems up in the air, but what follows quickly deviates from the script. They hold Levy down and jump on his face smashing it into a ladder. The first curb stomp could still appear to be a work, even though it’s clearly not. However the second is where the work stops and the assault starts. Tank literally smashes Levy’s face into the ladder and had the ladder not been so cheap it very well could have smashed his skull. A real ladder doesn’t have that much give.

From there the guys get on the mic with Ian Rotten and berate him for not selling properly and every time he tries to sit up, they beat him some more saying he’s not “selling”. Eventually the guy is covered in blood, with huge gashes on his back. Levy is CLEARLY disoriented and trying to escape the beating at the hands of three men, but can’t. This mugging continues for several minutes in from a bunch of hicks who think it’s and I quote “The greatest thing I’ve ever seen in my life”, and some of them even get in on the action hitting him with kendo sticks and kicking him in the back of the head.
At no point is this a work. Levy isn’t selling. He’s knocked out on his feet getting brutalized. Levy is an UNTRAINED wrestler and Ian and company are very well aware of this as they say as much. Why book an untrained wrestler? If you book an untrained wrestler you can’t punish them. And if you didn’t like his performance (Which was fine all things considered) then you don’t book him again, you don’t try to kill the guy.
As for Mickie Knuckles? I said a while back that Moose’s injury would probably result in the end of her TNA sting and
quite frankly, I think it’s well deserved. Whether or not she intended for this to happen is irrelevant. The entire thing is a disgrace to wrestling and she should not be glorified for having her friends beat someone up because she’s too much of a prima donna to get abuse in a match where she was booked to beat the hell out of someone with a baseball bat. I know that you should always put your friends before your boyfriend – but I have a serious dilemma!!

O.K – Me, my 2 best friends and some other girls arranged to stay in my friends beach- hut in Devon for a week this summer. We’ve really been looking forward to it, but today my boyfriend called and said he’s booked for us to stay in an amazing hotel in the south of France with his parents – and I don’t have to pay a thing..
BUT it’s the same time I’m going away with my friends.. I forgot to tell him when I was going..

-Both holidays look amazing
-These are my best friends and I’m going travailing with them next year..
-The beach- hut was arranged first..
-Both will be upset if I cant make it
-I’m going away on weekend breaks with both of them over the summer..
-I’m crazy about my boyfriend but he’s going to university in September, and we will probably split up – maybe this means I shouldn’t care as much – but I do, and really want to make the most of the time we do have together

Right – logically I can see I should go away with my friends, but I equally want to go with my boyfriend, and he’s really upset about it.. and so are they..

for background, Mark and Bridget are a famous Hollywood couple and Heather and Devon (Dev) are Bridget’ BFF (Heather) and brother (Dev.) they just got back from xmas at Bridget’s parents house and are getting ready for the premiere of Bridget and MArk’s new movie.

Mark and I stepped out of the plane groggily. Heather and Dev seemed overly excited. They quickly walked over to the baggage claim, while Mark and I walked slowly, hand-in-hand.
Mark yawned. Then I heard I heard the sound of a flashbulb going off. I turned to see photographers snapping pictures of us. I started jogging away, and Mark followed me. When we caught up to Heather and Dev, they had all the luggage and were staring at Kenz.
“Bridgey! Markie!” she said cheerily. “You two look tired.” She said smiling as she hugged both of us.
“I just met, Heather and Devon.” Kenz said my brother’s name in her gross airy voice, making me hold in vomit. Then I thought, it could have been Mark’s name she was saying, and the vomit disappeared and was replaced with relief.
“Everything’s been so boring without you guys!” Kenz smiled. “I mean, I had this party in my loft and you guys weren’t there so, out of like a hundred people, I had like…no one to talk to.” She said, chomping on a piece of Hubba Bubba Bubble gum. Heather smiled like an idiot and Dev just kept his gaze on Kenz’s chest. I rolled my eyes.
“That’s nice Kenz, but I need to find a hotel for Dev, Heth, and I, so I can get some sleep.” I yawned. Mark furrowed his brows.
“You guys can sleep in my penthouse.” He said as if it were obvious. “It’ll save money, and it’s not like I don’t have the space.” He added kindly. I choked on my own spit.
Dev patted my back. “That’s actually a good idea Pretty Boy.” Dev joked. “Bridge, don’t you think it’s a good idea?” Dev looked at me as I started breathing again.

“Um,” I said. Then I thought out my words.
Now, Mark and I have slept in the same trailer, but we usually left before one was up, and at either of the parents’ houses, MAJOR supervision. But and his apartment, there were no rules, no parents. Just him, Heather, Dev and me.
THAT’S IT! DEV! He’ll be the parent. He won’t let anything happen. Okay, now I was ready.
“Sure.” I smiled. Then hugged Mark. “That’s a great idea.”

normalement je passe mes vacances dans le sud de l’angleterre avec ma famille dans une villa. On voyage en voiture parce que c’est moins cher. En vacances, moi, je prefere me relaxer mais mes parents preferent visiter les monuments.
Pendant les grandes vacances je suis allee Torqauy, Devon, avec mes parents et mon frere pendant une semaine. Le voyage toit long mais moi, j’ai lu un magazine et j’ai ecoute mon i-pod. On a loge dans une villa privee avec une piscine. Le premier jour nous sommes alle nager dans le mer c’etiait tres belle. Je me suis levee de bonne heure pour faire une promendade avec mes parents et mon frere, apres cela, nous sommes alles a un musee apelle bygones!
La nuit nous sommes alles a kent cavern, il y avaint beaucoup de caves! C’tait effiayant plus tard nouse sommes alles a une foire et j’ai mange de barbe a papa. Mardi, j’ai dormi, puis je suis alle a une miniture village et j’ai pris im tas de photo’s, puis nous sommes alle faireune promenndade a la plage. Il c’etait tres amusant. Pendant la semaine je suis alle sur un train a vopeur et j’ai vu la maison d`’agtha christie nous sommes egalement alles sur un balon chaud de l’air et on fait des quads.
L’anee prochaire aprres mes examens je vous drais aller a new york. Je voyagerai ei avion. Je logerai dans un hotel cinq etiotes. je ferai un tour-guide et du shopping. Je verai le celebre empire state building et times sqaure. Je prendrai des photo’s.
Si le gagnais la lotterier nationale je passes vais mes vacances en amerique avec mes copains, je voyagerais en avion prive en premier classe. Je logerais dans un hotel sept etoites, Je ferais un tour du monder pour decouvrir des pays differents.
